Last updated: 27 August 2026
Bapuji Co-operative Bank ("the Bank", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the personal information of our members, depositors, borrowers, and website visitors. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and safeguard it, and the choices you have regarding your information.
This policy applies to information collected through our branches, account-opening and loan forms, this website, and our mobile banking application, and is in line with the Reserve Bank of India's guidelines on data protection and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its associated rules.
When you open an account, apply for a loan, or use our services, we may collect: your name, address, contact number, email, date of birth, photograph, KYC documents (PAN, Aadhaar, voter ID, etc.), signature, nominee details, income and occupation details, and transaction records.
When you use our website or mobile banking app, we may also collect device information, IP address, login and session activity, and app usage data to keep your account secure and improve our services.
We use customer information to open and service accounts, process deposits, withdrawals and loan applications, verify identity under KYC/AML norms, communicate statements, notices, and AGM updates, prevent fraud, and comply with RBI, DICGC, and other regulatory requirements.
We do not use customer information for purposes unrelated to banking services without your consent, except where required by law or by a competent statutory or regulatory authority.
We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect customer information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Access to customer records within the Bank is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.
Our mobile banking application uses secure authentication (PIN/biometric login) and encrypted communication channels. Customers are advised to never share their login credentials, OTPs, or card PINs with anyone, including persons claiming to represent the Bank.
We do not sell or rent customer information to third parties for marketing purposes. Information may be shared with credit information companies (such as CIBIL), RBI, DICGC, statutory auditors, law enforcement agencies, or courts, where required under applicable law or regulation.
Where the Bank engages service providers (for example, for statement printing, SMS/email alerts, or technology services), such providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may use customer data only to the extent necessary to provide the contracted service.
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences and understand how visitors use the site. Cookies do not give us access to your bank accounts; they are used only for site functionality and basic usage analytics. Certain information, such as KYC records and statutory transaction data, must be retained for the period mandated by RBI and other regulators, even after an account is closed.
